|"I realize that I need a structured practice program to improve this area
of my game. Good chipping and putting takes a lot of stress off the
long game." Joe Durant: PGA Tour, Champions Tour, March 2014.
As the Director of Instruction at Memphis National, the lead instructor for the "Red Zone Scoring
School" and the Scoring Coach for PGA touring professionals I have 25 years of up close and
personal first hand teaching experience. I take great pride in helping all of my students achieve a
consistent more reliable golf swing and golf game. .
I can help you create the most efficient and effective way to swing, play and practice. Also, I have
developed a specific method for attacking errors and weakness in the Scoring and Short Game.
"I would have practiced as hard, but I would have made my practice
more meaningful ...I would have worked more on my short game and
putting. I would have done more drills to make the practice meaningful
by adding pressure to practice as much as possible." Lee Westwood
Additionally, I have a keen insight into the mechanics of the golf swing and have demonstrated
the ability to adapt my message to fit students of all skill levels, from beginner to professional. An
emphasis is placed on building scoring ability which employs a simple but sophisticated approach
that creates a skill set to take the game from the range to the course.
In fact, I have worked with winners on all professional tours, and I can teach you what I taught
them and what in return they taught me. My students from the PGA Tour include Shaun Micheel,
Joe Durant, Vance Veazey, Doug Barron, Kyle Ellis and David Gossett. Other notable students
include: Will Taylor (PGA Tennessee Teacher of the Year), Dave McKendrick (Asian Tour) and
Alan McAfee (Tennessee State and Memphis City Open Champion).
“I've enjoyed reading about tapping into the "Inner Golfer". That's how
I used to play the game. I need that person to come back out.” Shaun
Micheel: PGA Tour, 2003 PGA Champion
